More than 20% of the energy consumed by appliances is dissipated as heat. In industry, these losses can represent huge amounts of energy. A startup company has developed a technology that can recover this heat (from as low as 30°C) to produce electricity at an affordable cost. A prototype is currently being assembled, and in 2014 the first commercial version, with a power of 40 kW will be tested in real conditions. Professors in physics and energy efficiency, startup coaches, consultancies, industry and data center representatives (among others) have discussed the feasibility of this project and have all lent their advice to this young startup company.
