In April 2016 Geneva became a global space for dialogue on health and open data, being the host of the Geneva Health Forum and of the Journée SITG 2016 (a celebration of the 25 anniversary of SITG).
In this occasion, THE Port Association, the Geneva Creativity Center (GCC), le Système d’Information du Territoire à Genève (SITG), the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG) and les Transports Publics Genevois (tpg) organized an Hackathon focused on innovating global health with open data. Open Geneva Hackathon 2016 was held at Campus Biotech the 16th, 17th and 18th April 2016.
The teams, gathering participants from the most various fields and backgrounds and with different age, gender and agenda, faced the challenges of creating their projects’ prototype in a tightened 60 hours sprint workshop. The Hackathon’s projects outcome were presented on Monday 18th of April.
This year’s topics were:
1. | Urban navigation for people with visual impairment |
2. | Forecasting Emergencies |

4. | Health data collection and handling for effective responses |
