On the Federal level, Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency, has taken over from the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) as of January 1st, 2018. In its new form, it continues to promote science-based innovations in Switzerland, and seeks to strengthen the capacity of small and medium enterprises in Switzerland to innovate. Innosuisse works to facilitate SME access to the expertise of research institutions, and orients its efforts towards promotion of projects with very strong potential to create innovations.

At the cantonal level, the département de la sécurité et de l’économie (Security and Economy Department, DSE) of Canton Geneva has put in place a support system for Geneva businesses aimed at advising them on their innovative projects, providing support through research, financing, and general assistance.

This event is intended both for those active in entrepreneurship (SMEs, start-ups, business) and members of the academic and research community. It will present opportunities for encounters and exchanges between participants and representatives from the support agencies, with the goal of stimulating innovation and encouraging the emergence of new projects.
