The Team
The GCC is made up of a mix of engineers, scientists and social scientists from academia, industry and government. The GCC team is at the heart of a multidisciplinary network of experts and institutions linked to technological innovation in Geneva, Switzerland and abroad.
RANIA AL-BAROUDI

Rania Al-Baroudi has a solid experience working in the private and public sectors in Geneva and abroad. She has held international sales, business development and project management roles in various industries such as fragrances and flavours, cosmetics and biotech, focusing on key global accounts, as well as regional and local ones across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. She has also worked for UNICEF in Geneva and Tanzania in Communications, Advocacy and Partnerships with the private sector, the government and parliamentarians.
With a multicultural background, she has a multidisciplinary education having earned a B.A. and Master’s Degree in International Relations at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. She has also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Corporate Social Responsibility from Geneva University and an Executive Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University. She speaks and writes French, English, Arabic and Spanish.
SÉBASTIEN KICKA

With a strong academic background in Biology and more specifically Genetic, Sébastien defended his Microbiology thesis in 2005. After he led a research project focusing on cell mobility at the University of California San Diego, he joined in 2010 Prof. Soldati’s laboratory within the Biochemistry Department of the University of Geneva, where he applied his research skills to identify new anti-tuberculous compounds.
He joined the Geneva creativity Center in 2017, as a Scientific Advisor linking up Academic research (HES-SO Genève and University of Geneva) with industry and cantonal actors in Geneva.
His in-depth knowledge of competences and technologies developed within the University research institutes is certainly an asset that helps address industrial challenges and build new collaborative projects at the interface of academia and industry.
BENJAMIN MORIT

With an academic background in economics and management, Benjamin became interested in the environment and socioeconomics issues in his masters studies.
Through several student and professional associations experiences, he promoted the entrepreneurial spirit.
In Autumn 2018, he joined the Geneva Creativity Center as project manager in the human, economics and social sciences.
NATHALIE SCHMIDLIN
Communication Assistant

Nathalie Schmidlin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Artistic Direction (communication and advertising oriented). After several enriching experiences in various fields, such as cultural and international environments, she has joined the Geneva Creativity Center as Executive Assistant and Visual Communication Officer.
She is in charge of designing communication material (flyers, reports, …), web publishing, digital marketing, event communication, photography and video production.
